What happens when engineering becomes both passion and profession? 

 Earlier when people used to ask us what we wanted to become when we grew up, there used to be a general answer by each one of us; “I want to become an engineer!” It used to be an innocent answer having no detailed thought to back it up. We often used to answer by getting intrigued with the images of people carrying laptops, going to office, working on projects and making big in life! The thoughts of our future began with high school studies, our interest in a particular subject and our curiosity to know more! Students taking up engineering are either too much into buildings, machines, computers, technology or even mobile phone! That’s when the curiosity leads its way to the future!

 When the course began, we were too overwhelmed with the analytics, techniques, mathematics, designs, instrumentations and equations! We started understanding the concepts of each; trying to apply them wherever we could and practicing them everyday! The subjects were engaging and we realised that it wasn’t engineering anymore; it was the passion we were looking for! It was fun; it was exciting; it was creative!

We, at AVCOE, used to often hear about our senior Mr. Pravin Kolhe, whose success story is no less than an inspiring movie! Taking inspiration and cues from him, We decided that we’ll focus on the subjects we love and work for the development of new techniques and software! Till the time we reached 4th year of college, we had become passionate about the whole thing of engineering. We started doing crazy things such as:

• Opening laptops and computers to check things
• Breaking open source mobile phones to study the algorithm
• Reading about technology way more than we had in syllabus
• Being up to date about new devices, softwares and apps
• Following famous personalities
• Reading technical articles by them
• Applying engineering to things surrounding us etc.

These things made us not only learn things but also become possessive and passionate about the field and type of work! We do not shy away from accepting that we belong to the most common profession that exists nowadays! In fact, we take pride in it! We take pride in being AVCOEians!

What is common in all these songs? What is the link that connects them all? Yes, they are all about the best relationships of our lives; Friendship! The moment we hear these songs the first thing we do is think of our everyday buddies. Friends that we make at school are special but the ones that we make at college always have an entirely different place in our hearts. From our conversations to our deepest secrets, they know it all.

Life without our friends would be so boring and hard to deal with. Who would we bunk classes, overeat canteen food and gossip at our Katta with? Not just that, we hold their hand while watching all the horror movies, it’s them who teach us how to drive, it’s them who push us more for studies and it’s them who make sure we are always doing well! In fact, they stand up for us more than anybody else and are half the reason we even attend college.

Over the years we make a number of friends to hang out with because of the innumerable college activities we participate in. Everyone has something to teach us and help us in different ways! We have friends in our class who accompany us in everything, everywhere! They are the ones who teach us how to make amazing last minute presentations. It is from them that we learn teamwork and dedication.

We also make friends with our senior batch mates in performing art groups, in sports activities and also in hostel! If we have learnt to deal with homesickness and lonely nights, it is because of them.

Many a times,  we even become good friends with the faculty members, who let us explore the topics and discuss in detail; helping us get an insight in the topic. The study group is also one such group that brings the best out of us! Those times of studying together, teaching each other and learning from one another always stay in the best of our memories!

All these people stay near our hearts during college life and many years down the line; and we will always turn back to see nothing else but the memories that will make us laugh and cry at the same time.

“College”, a word that makes million memories come rushing back to us. Taking a trip down the memory lane, what is the most important thing that we remember apart from our teachers, friends & canteen food?? Our ‘Katta’!

Every college has its dedicated “hangout” place where every group has spent half of their college time. For others it may be just a term, but for us, it is a place very close to our hearts.  Katta can be  any random place in a college:

• Corridors
• Staircase
• Platform under a tree
• The terrace.

Katta has a different aura to it! Every person there, will be very thrilled to tell us the story as to how that very place came to be known as their own katta! Some of us have spent our time there having the best Chai from Canteen wale Bhaiya and some of us have copied our assignments from each other in the last minute. Oh, and how can we forget; some of us have discussed our deepest secrets and have cried over the most stupid reason out there too.

We have our very own katta too! AVCOE’s favourite place: Terrace! Why? Because, that was one place where you could find a number of  people from different age groups, streams and fields making the best conversations and memories there. We have watched many sunsets and gossiped away to glory, experienced the season’s first rains and danced joyously. The best part used to be when the watchman bhaiya used to come to drive us away! We only used to make him run until he gave up!

Oh how amazing the days they were! We wish we could always stay there, enjoying and spending time with our buddies! Reflecting upon all this, we have made up our minds. After we finish our college and come visit it again, guess where we will go first?

 After graduating, each and every student awaits for his degree! The black coat, the graduation cap and the photograph with the proof of accomplishment are all enough to bring happy tears in the eyes! Year long wait to hold the degree, nostalgia after visiting the campus and desire to meet the old friends are all fulfilled by a grand convocation ceremony!

So, AVCOE is pleased to inform all its students that we will be having the 110th Convocation Ceremony on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 9.00 a.m.

The convocation ceremony will take place in the eminent presence of Hon’ble Shri Balasaheb Thorat along with:

The following are the instructions pertaining to your participation in the Convocation Ceremony:

ON OR BEFORE CONVOCATION DAY

A. CLEARANCE: Each graduate must clear with the respective Department upon which he/she should receive a clearance certificate from the College Registrar, if he or she does not owe any money to the College and pay a compulsory Convocation fees. Only those graduates who will have completed paying the fees due to the College by Monday, January 30, 2017 at 9.00 a.m will be allowed to the function.

B. HIRE OR PURCHASE OF ACADEMIC DRESS: The academic dress will be available for hire on Monday, January 30, 2017  from the Store In charge at a fees of Rs. 400 per set (Out of which Rs. 300 will taken as Security Deposit and will be refunded after the function on the produce of the original receipt).

C. REHEARSAL

(i) The rehearsal is an integral part of the Graduation Ceremony.

(ii) All Graduates intending to participate in the Ceremony must attend the Rehearsal on Saturday January 28, 2017 at 10.00 a.m. at their respective dept. And contact the concerned HOD.

(iii) Movement and Photography by graduates during the rehearsal is prohibited.

D. DRESS FOR BOTH REHEARSAL AND CONVOCATION: All graduates must be in full Academic dress.

E. SEATING ARRANGEMENTS: Seats for all the graduates are arranged and reserved. Proceed to your seat at the designated time and occupy it throughout the Convocation Ceremony.

ON CONVOCATION DAY

A. PUNCTUALITY: Punctuality is essential for all Graduates and parents. Any graduate or guest who does not arrive at the Dronagiri Conference Hall on time will not be allowed to participate in the Ceremony.

B. TIME: Graduates and their parents are required to take their seats between 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. No person shall be allowed into or out of the Dronagiri Conference Hall thereafter until the end of the Ceremony.

C. CONDUCT DURING THE CEREMONY

(i) Convocation is a solemn event and must be appreciated with all the seriousness attached to it. Silence must be maintained throughout the Ceremony.

(ii) Movement and photography by graduates and guests are prohibited during the Ceremony. Everyone remains seated unless instructed otherwise.

(iii) Each graduate must stand when his/her name is read by the respective Dean/Director from the graduation list.

(iv) Weather: Graduates and guests are advised to bring umbrellas and sun coats should the weather be unfavorable.

PARKING AND ENTRY

(i) Vehicles for graduates and guests must be parked at Parking Court under the direction of the Security Personnel at Left Hand Side of the Main Gate of the Institute. Parking is prohibited at the Main Gate of Engineering College.

(ii) Graduates and guests are required to proceed on foot along the pavement to the Amrut Kalamanch through the Gate of on the Side of Student Section/General Office.

AFTER CONVOCATION

A. RETURN OF HIRED ACADEMIC DRESS: All hired items must be returned not later than Monday January 30, 2017 up to 4:00 pm otherwise a surcharge of Rs. 50/- per day will be levied on all items not returned by that date and time.

B. CERTIFICATES

(i) The names on the degree certificate will appear as they are in the Student Management Information System (SMIS) in the order of First name, Middle name and Surname.

(ii) Discrepancies found if any related to the details of the students on the certificate, which will be forwarded to the university through the student section.

(ii) Degree Certificates must be safely kept.

C. LAST DATE FOR COLLECTION OF THE CERTIFICATE COLLEGE: Every graduate must collect his/her certificate by Saturday February 04, 2017 up to 1:00 p.m.

NOTE: Any certificate not collected by this date will be returned to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and No further correspondence regarding this will entertained.

Amrutvahini Sheti and Shikshan Vikas Sanstha has garnered its name in the country for its top of the notch quality education and its students earning names in multi-national companies! AVCOE is proud to have had students who have always done well in academics as well as co curricular activities! Hence, to make sure the creative and bright side of the students do not get lost in the run of education and degree, AVCOE organises a cultural festival every year; “Medha”!

This year, “Medha” has been conceptualised by the youth leader Mr. Rajvardhan Thorat and the organization's director Mrs. Sharayutai Deshmukh! It will take place on 5th, 6th and 7th of January 2017 at Vasantdada Sports and Cultural Complex!

The grand stage at the Cultural Complex will be decked for the various competitions to explore the hidden talents in students. Moreover, the entire fest is organised and managed by the students of AVCOE, building their managerial skills as well as team work! Its their efforts that has made Medha the most famous fest in Northern Maharashtra!

This year, Medha will bring to stage some amazing performances in:

• Mimicry
• Dance
• Singing
• Music
• Drama
• Musical Play
• Painting etc.

Inauguration Ceremony:

The schedule includes an inauguration ceremony on 5th January in the presence of chief patrons of the ceremony Mr. Balasaheb Thorat, MLA, Dr. Sudhir Tambe, MLC, Industrialist Vitthal Kamat, Mrs. Sharayu Deshmukh and Mr.Rajwardhan Thorat.

Schedule:

On January 6th, lectures from Mr. Viswas Nangre Patil, IPS Officer and Dr. Uday Nirgudkar, Editor ZEE24Taas have been organised. In the later half, “Yuvagiri”, a program of channel Z Yuva has been organised for the participants and students.

On January 7th, Bollywood Superstar Sanjay Dutt will attend the event for the prize distribution. Along with these major events, various cultural programs and competitions will take place everyday in the evening in the presence of other artists and actors from the film industry.

All the coordinators, supervisors, operation officers, management, professors, teachers and students of the college, junior college and school are taking efforts to make the event a grand success.

AVCOE wishes to make this a grand event once again and calls the youth, the parents and the residents from the district to come and attend Medha to have a culturally amazing start to 2017!

Everyone is familiar with all these dialogues! They all remind us of a time, a place, an aura, a bucket of memories and a safe haven all through our college life; the canteen!

CANTEEN; where every corner has things to sell and every table has a story to tell! It is the only place where gatherings of friends and teachers are found simultaneously, both in their most chilled out phase, not worrying about each other. In fact, it is a place with many memories, talks and nostalgia associated with it that reminds everyone of their canteen days. If we recall the perfect canteen atmosphere at any given time, we’ll see a place:

• Which is the “KATTA” for all
• Where everyone is always busy
• Where all meetings are held
• Where candid moments are captured
• Where new friends are made
• Where life is always awesome
• Where memories are made

In entire college life canteen is always the best part! That cutting chai with the aroma of ginger, the famous poha, idli chutney, spicy masala pav and tangy noodles determines our everyday cuisines!

Place Matters:

After a strange observation, we found out that canteen is a place that has lot of corners and strategically placed tables which can be chosen to either hide or be directly visible!  At one corner there are some gossiping guys whereas at another there is a group finishing their assignment at eleventh hour.

Canteen is not just a place where you go, eat and leave. It possesses the energy to lift up your mood every time you enter. In fact, it is a place where the ‘chai wale uncle’ and the ‘serving guy’, all become buddies and know each other by names. It is a place where you have smile-buddies who just smile and you revert the gesture without knowing each other.

It is, in fact, a different world altogether which is to be cherished, loved and experienced!
